It’s not just for Ariel anymore!! Join Dive Utah and Aqua Native as we offer PADI Mermaid certifications. These fun classes teach basic free dive techniques, how to use a monofin and basic mermaid swimming and performance techniques. Best of all, all equipment rental is included in the price!
Discover Mermaid Experience
Minimum age ~ 6 yrs.
In a safe environment with a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor, we offer mermaid fins and tails for all ages, shapes, and sizes. These 1-hour mermaid experiences can be conducted at our pool or your private pool.
This course runs as needed monthly.

Basic Mermaid
Minimum age ~ 6 yrs.
A 1-day certification course with a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor. Through a classroom and in-water session, learn the basics about swimming safely with a mermaid tail. To enroll, participants must be able to swim 25m and float for 3 minutes unassisted.
This course runs as needed monthly.

Minimum age ~ 10 yrs.
A 2-day certification course with a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor. Through classroom and in-water sessions, learn everything you need to know for safe mermaid swimming ~ whether you want to be a mer for fun or career! To enroll, participants must be able to swim 50m and float for 5 minutes unassisted.
This course runs once a month or more as needed.

Advanced Mermaid
Minimum age ~ 12 yrs.
A 3-day certification course with a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor. Through classroom and in-water sessions in open water, learn what you need to know for safe mermaid diving. To enroll, participants must be able to swim 100m and float for 10 minutes unassisted.
This course runs once every other month, as needed and scheduling permits with open water sites.

A certification course with a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor. Through classroom and in-water sessions, advance your skills to PADI Basic Mermaid Instructor to start working as an Instructor! To enroll, participants must be able to swim 500m and float for 10 minutes unassisted.
This course runs as needed and scheduling permits with open water sites.

Freedive
Get back to basics with Dive Utah and Aqua Native by earning a PADI Freediver certification. Tap your inner strength and learn to move as one with the ocean, without all the heavy gear. Learn breath control techniques, mindfulness and the use of larger freedive fins as you move in new easy ways under the surface.
Discover Freediver
Minimum age ~ 8 yrs. In a safe environment with a certified Freedive Instructor, experience the basic fundamentals of freediving in confined water. We offer freedive dive equipment in sessions for your use. These 1-hour freedive experiences can be conducted at our pool or your private pool.
