At Dive Utah, we want our students to be surrounded by the best possible divers.
Both our Divemasters and our Assistant Instructors go through extensive training to become certified assistants to our Instructors. As an Assistant Instructor, you'll be actually teaching different parts of different classes.
Knowledge Development
You'll learn more about the PADI System of Diver Education and how to become a diving educator rather than instructor. You'll learn to teach the academic sections of several PADI classes.
Confined Water
You'll refine your skills and learn to teach in water.
Open Water
We have one Open Water portion where we do the same at the lake.
Requirements
You'll need to be PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster certified or equivalent. You need to be in good physical condition for diving and have a diving-medical exam conducted within the last year. You must have a minimum of 60 logged dives. As an Assistant Instructor, you are expected to have your own equipment that is professional, both in appearance as well as performance. (Tanks and weights can be provided.) Liability and medical statements MUST be signed prior to the first class.
Schedule
This class has multiple class, pool and open water sessions. Please call the shop closest to you or use the “Sign up Now” to get started scheduling your class.
