The excitement and fun of scuba diving are waiting for you!
At Dive Utah, we remember what it was like to learn to scuba dive. The excitement, the anticipation,
the thrill of breathing underwater for the first time.
About the Class
In the Academic portion, we use a home study program that allows you to learn at your own
comfortable rate. When we meet, the class goes over topics such as equipment and dive travel.
In the Confined Water or Pool portion, you learn the different skills that enable you to
dive safely and confidently with plenty of time left over to play and practice. The Open
Water portion will let you take the skills and knowledge learned in the first two portions
and apply them in an actual diving environment such as a lake, hot-spring or ocean.
Classes are for ages 10 and up.
Are you Taking a Trip?
Most of our students are taking the class because they have a trip planned. To help you better enjoy the diving on your trip,
we will put together an information packet about the diving at your destination. This is part
of our "Becoming A Diver" Program, designed to help you get the most from your diving certification.
Class Schedules
At Dive Utah we have many different class arrangements for even the busiest of people. Call the Dive Utah nearest
to you for the newest class schedules and next start dates.
Master Scuba Diver
Does a skier stop when he learns the wedge? Is a martial arts student content with his white belt? Of
course not, these are only the entry level steps. The same is true with scuba divers. Open Water
is scuba’s entry level class. Every diver should aspire to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
A diver with their Advanced, Rescue, 5 specialty certifications and 50 logged dives earns the
prestigious Master Scuba Diver rating. This is the scuba black belt. Ask about our discounted
Open Water/MSD package today!
Got Nitrox?
Did you know you can dive longer and safer by adding more oxygen to your air? Plus, many divers
have more energy at the end of the dive day. This is called Oxygen Enriched Air or simply
Nitrox. You can try Nitrox on your last Open Water dive. See our staff for more
information.
Get Out of Town!
Dive Utah is always traveling. From our bi-monthly California trips to warm water destinations in
the Caribbean or South Pacific, a Dive Utah trip is the perfect place to finish your Open Water
Certification. Plus you receive a discount on your class when you complete it on one of our
trips! See our staff or website for a list of upcoming trips.
Price
Class prices range from $250 for a group class to $2399 for our Master Scuba Diver package.
Call the Dive Utah nearest you for current prices. Each student needs their
own PADI Open Water manual, dive table and log book. If using the manual, students will also need
access to the PADI Open Water DVD. If you have 2 or more people you might prefer the Open Water Multimedia which can be shared (each student will still need their own dive table and log book). You will need your own mask, snorkel fins and boots by the time we do the Open Water training. In addition, some dive sites have an entry fee that is not included in the cost of the class.
Don't just take a certification class. Become a diver.
Only at Dive Utah.
