Whether you're a newly certified diver looking for what's next or
an older diver wanting to get back underwater, the Advanced
Open Water course will give you skills and training you can
use on any dive.
At Dive Utah, we feel the most important thing
for any diver is to stay active.
The active diver will not only enjoy diving more often, but they
will become more comfortable and confident in their own diving
skills and thus become safer divers.
The Advanced Open Water course will give you an introduction into
five specialty areas of diving. These skills will enable you
to dive more often and in different environments.
In the Academic portion, through home study and one
class session, you'll learn the basics of the five specialty
areas. These include three fundamental dives; Night dive,
Deep dive and Navigation dive. You have your choice of two
elective dives, which usually include Altitude and Search
and Recovery.
In the Confined Water or pool portion, you'll review
basic skills if necessary and preview skills used in the specialty areas.
In the Open Water portion, you'll make your five advanced
dives over the course of two days at one of our local hot-springs or lakes.
It's required that you already be certified as an Open Water Diver
before you take the Advanced Open Water Diver course.
